Painting

The Singh family, founders of the Touch of Color Foundation, run a respected and prominent commercial/industrial painting business in the northeast. The company has been in business for 42 years working on high-profile projects such as Yankee Stadium, American Dream and MetLife Stadium just to name a few.

Every year Touch of Color selects noteworthy projects to donate its expertise and resources. These community projects are selected based on personal contacts and connections.

Ignite Community UMC Church – Kenilworth, NJ 2022

In 2022, Touch of Color orchestrated the repainting of the entire inside of the Ignite Community UMC Church in Kenilworth, New Jersey.  In addition to repainting the Church, TOC also helped replace and install the lights in the Church.  Giving back to the religious community is very important to Touch of Color and we look forward to many more of these projects in the future.

Mount Nebo Church Restoration Project, North Chesterfield VA – 2020

In 2019 Touch of Color selected the 150-year-old Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia to renovate. This project had a special connection with the Singh family. MJ Singh, the mentor and inspirator of Touch of Color, spent his last years in the Richmond, Virginia area. His caretaker, Ms. Michele Faulk, was very dedicated and kindhearted to the 94-year-old Mr. Singh. She was a parishioner at the church. In order to show their appreciation for Michele’s services, The Singh family decided to renovate and paint the church that she belonged to.

YWCA Women’s Shelter Project, Roselle, NJ – 2019

Touch of Color also chose to help a local Women’s Shelter in Roselle, NJ. The shelter was run by YMCA to help abused women. This project was chosen because the director of the shelter was a former employee of the family business and this was the family’s way of giving back to the local community. The shelter was repaired and re-painted by the foundation as we provided a clean and vibrant space for those in need.

Saint John M.E.R. Church Restoration, Elizabeth, NJ – 2018

The connection with St. John Church came through Sharonda Brooks who worked for the company. Since the church was in the process of renovating, Touch of Color painted the whole inside and downstairs of the sanctuary. We also donated toward the elevator project and also towards toys and clothing for the disadvantaged in the community. This evolved into a lifelong friendship with Pastor Earnest Jackson and other church members.”

Lasara Home Restoration Punjab, India – 2017

In 2018, Touch of Color undertook the complete renovation and modernization of their ancestral home in the village of Lasara. The house is called Daroga Tower. It is three-story building which was built in 1932. Although we had been doing repairs from time to time to keep the building functional, but it had never been updated and modernized. We started a major renovation project which included completely modernizing the electrical and plumbing systems but keeping the outside facade the same as before in order to maintain the historical character of the building.

A large hall was added to the rear of the building, which is now being used as the Medical Clinic.
